As we are developing more upgrades for the Kawasaki ZH2 the stock fuel system is reaching its limits, & an upgraded fuel pump & regulator is required.

We already make an upgraded system for the H2 & H2R so the ZH2 unit is a modified version of this.

Why & when is this needed

The stock fuel system uses a fixed 55psi regulator, while this is fine for the factory setup it does start to become deficient when more boost pressure is applied or when extra flow is required when using ethanol or oxigenated fuels.

When running  higher than factory boost pressure (say for example 25psi) this works against the fuel pressure ( factory 55psi) inside the intake so only an effective 30psi of pressure is atomising & injecting the fuel.

This additional air pressure & turbulence within the plenum causes fuel to become less atomised & less suspended within the intake charge which in turn means more fuel needs to be injected to compensate, the higher the boost the worse the effect gets.

As the boost pressure increases you lose more injector capacity because of the dropping effective fuel pressure working against the higher boost presure.

How does this work

With our upgrade the regulator references boost pressure & raises the fuel pressure at 1:1 ratio so as to maintan an effective base fuel pressure (55psi) which keeps the injectors flowing & atomising as they were designed to.

This has the side effect of increasing the injector capacity ( when measured against the factory setup) & therefore is especially suited to E85 applications where extra fuel flow is required.

 What is included

This is a fully anodised plug & play unit that fits in the stock pump location & includes a 340lph AEM E85 compatible pump, rebuildable quality billet fuel filter & E85 compatible hoses & fittings, it accepts the factory fuel hose connector & electrical harness connector, it also uses stainless steel hardware .

A quality liquid filled fuel pressure gauge is also fitted to the unit for easy setting of the base pressure & as an easy visual reference to check on fuel pressures when installed on the bike.

* Note: the factory exhaust servo motor will need to be removed to allow for the pressure gauge to fit, although if you are at the point of needing this pump then that's probably already long gone isnt it ?*

Includes boost pressure reference hose & nipple, mounting hardware & instructions.

The only modification required is fitting the supplied boost pressure takeoff nipple to the plenum.

Can also be supplied with an optional AN-6 fuel fitting for those people using non standard fuel hoses.
